Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Living Pioneer uses cookies to help Living Pioneer identify and track visitors, their usage of Living Pioneer website, and their website access preferences. Living Pioneer visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies (see: cookiechoices.org) before using Living Pioneer’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of Living Pioneer’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

First-party cookies, meaning cookies on this website, are only sometimes set. They are also sometimes called session cookies which are created when initially visiting a website. Usually, this is only required when signing up with the website or for administration purposes only. Living Pioneer could use them for other purposes too.

The website does make use of third party plugins on the WordPress platform. These plugins that are supplied and created by third parties, do, on occasion, set their own third-party cookies. They do this for various reasons include providing site visitor information to the webmaster or in the course of processing information submitted by the visitor on a contact form and sending an email to the webmaster for their response.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics, a web traffic analyzing service, uses its own cookie and sometimes mobile identifiers to enable it to collect data about site visitors. It provides this data to the webmaster, owner(s) and people who help with the site. The collected information about site visitors includes what pages were visited, the average time each visitor remained on the site, and other relevant information.

The data service does aggregate information like gender and age group to provide a rough indication of the demographic and gender mix of the visitors, along with interests. This is the Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting service. Among other things, this helps Living Pioneer to publish content which hopefully is received more receptively by the audience because it suits their gender or average age mix. A Remarketing with Google Analytics feature is also provided for. The number of ad impression(s) (times it is shown) is recorded to help understand how popular one advertisement was vs another advertisement via Google Display Network Impression Reporting.

Visitors can choose to selectively opt out of some features of Google Analytics by following this link. Advertising via Google AdWords and Google AdSense is covered in the Advertising section lower down in this privacy policy. However, it’s possible to modify the Ads Settings (or Ad Settings for mobile apps) too.

Advertising

Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to visitors by advertising partners, including Google and Amazon, may set third-party cookies, or use web beacons or mobile identifiers. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about previous visits to this website and other websites.

The information and use of either first-person or third-party cookies and/or mobile identifiers permits ad networks including Google, DoubleClick, its partners, and other advertising networks, to, among other things, check for fraudulent usage, manage advertising frequency, deliver targeted advertisements based on your previous internet browsing history, and provide ad reporting to publishers and/or advertisers.

Ads can be personalized to the visitor. This is done because more relevant advertising matching their interests is believed to be more useful than advertisements on random subjects. Visitors have the option to visit Google’s Ad Settings page to opt out of the personalization of advertising. It should also be possible to opt out of personalization used by other third-party advertisers by accessing the appropriate option on their websites. Alternatively, visit www.aboutads.info as another way to opt out with third-party vendors who use cookies to help personalize the ad experience.

Business Transfers

If Living Pioneer, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Living Pioneer goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Living Pioneer may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
